Day 12 The Finisher Mindset

The Finisher Mindset

Choices lead to habits and habits define your character. You have probably heard this before. Ask yourself What does your character say about you? Well, let’s examine the pattern of your choices. Do you have a habit of starting things and not finishing. Bishop Cornelius Blake in a recent sermon said “ do what you signed up for and do it until it is finished”. Recently my teenage daughter came and matter of factly said “ I want to quit track”. My husband and I couldn’t believe it. I mean for over a year all she could talk about was joining track. We went to the track every Saturday to exercise and train. She seemed so excited and committed. But then, came the pain of her first loss, a coach that liked to push and get the most out of her, and the reality she had to also maintain her grades. We can certainly relate to that. However, the successful thinkers and business owners seem to master the art of finishing and that’s what sets them apart. 2 Corinthians 8:11 now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. So beloved don’t plan tomorrow until you start managing your today.

Day 2 all About the Mind challenge

THE MINDSET OF AN HEIR PART 2: DO YOU KNOW THE SIZE OF YOUR INHERITANCE? Mindset recovery and Discovery  One of the things that amaze me is our fear to ask big things of our big God. Truthfully speaking I have been guilty of this many times. Whether it's due to a lack of trust, guilt, or understanding we fail to see that God will meet us where we are. If we are minimalist in our prayers and asking we will get less than minimal answers and solutions. The prodigal son may have been guilty of a lot of things but he knew to ask his father for his portion. He knew the size of his portion and that he had a right to it. Although he used it poorly and selfishly he knew well enough to know what he was inheriting (Luke 15:11-32) . Let me ask you, are you asking according to the size of your God or the size of your vision? We think small but God plans big!!!! While you are asking for another apartment to rent or lease God is planning for your dream home. While you are asking for a small busi…

Day 10 The Resourceful Mindset

The Resourceful Mindset
We have been focusing on the mindset of a warrior for the past two days. Looking at the life of Gideon and David. Surely, we can dig a little deeper into the the lives of both men to pull out some attributes we all could use to become a warrior. However, I would like to introduce another warrior, Esther. She is not a likely choice but she is a great example of a key concept needed in a warrior, resourcefulness. Hence, the resourceful mindset needed by every warrior. The word resourceful is defined as having the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties. It is the ability to promptly find solutions and deal with difficulties. After that definition you should absolutely see how Esther can be identified as having this mindset. Sure, the Bible describes her as being a beautiful woman but she was resourceful. This woman did not panic at the threat of her nation being wiped out. Being resourceful is bringing value to the table and ut…

Day 3 Destroying the Ambivalent Mind

The Ambivalent Mind Destroyed!                                                                 The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines ambivalence as simultaneous and contradictory attitudes or feelings toward an object, person, or action. Other connotations for that word are also fluctuation and uncertainty. In my profession ambivalence is often a sign of internal conflict. It is a battle that occurs in the mind that can affect all areas of an individual's life. It really boils down to not being able to make decisions. For most of us we are able to make informed decisions every day. At times we even make decisions on impulse, but we exercise the ability to make decisions. Even as a professional you can easily fall into being trapped by the quandary of an ambivalent person. I like to examine what the bible has to say about ambivalence. James 1:8 states, " He is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does". The word looks at it very clear cut. It's either this or tha…
